Through Jaynes help, the children attending school at Amani Primary have got somewhere comfortable to sit and write while lessons are on session. There are plans initiated by Jayne to construct an ablution block for these children. For this support, we say thank you to Jayne and all her friends who have contributed generously to help support the education of children here in Kenya.

Improvement of Sanitation for Mzizima primary Children
‘We cannot thank Chepstow enough through Madam Julie. This school would not be a school if it were not for you’ said the head teacher Mr. Madzayo.
This is not the first project that has been successfully been completed at the school. Through the year, Mr. and Mrs. Jones have stood together with the school and seen it grow from a mud walled, makuti thatched school to the permanent structure it is now. Recently, they brought a long two raspberry pie computers that were aimed to introduce the children into computer studies. As Turtle Bay, we thank the Jones family for standing with Mzizima Primary to better the education of children of Mzizima community.
World Environment Day
This year’s world environmental day was celebrated on the 5th of June. The theme of this year’s celebration was ‘beat plastic pollution’. This theme aligned well with the clubs ambition of reducing and reusing of plastic waste. As you are aware, turtle bay has dedicate a team of staff members who go out daily to collect marine waste plastics. This is done with the intention to reduce and keep the plastics out of Watamu Beaches.
Turtle Bay has also done a total ban on plastic straws and shall offer an alternative only on request. Otherwise, use of straw shall no longer be encouraged by the hotel.
Turtle Bay wishes to extend an invitation for participation in the upcoming International coastal clean-up in September.
